In 2010, almost every third purchase of fresh fruits in the world was made in China (171.9 million tons). In India, almost 12% of all fresh fruits in the world were sold, and in Brazil - about 6%.

In 2010, Costa Rica (380.2 kg per year), Brazil (185.1 kg per year) and Iran (183.6 kg per year) were the leaders in the consumption of fresh fruit per capita among the countries of the world.
