More than a quarter of the companies reviewed (26.9%) were registered in Moscow, and their share in revenue was much more noticeable (52.0% at the end of 2019).
In the rating of companies in terms of revenue for the full year of 2019, the players ranked as follows. The first place was taken by MTL JSC (MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIES Ltd), registered in Moscow, one of the leading Russian developers and manufacturers of innovative medical equipment for radiation diagnostics (revenue - 5 billion rubles). The second line is occupied by LLC “SP Gelpik” from Moscow (revenue - slightly less than 3 billion rubles). The COVID-19 pandemic, which has given impetus to the development of a number of segments of the medical device market, affects the category of X-ray equipment not so clearly. Although a chest X-ray is recommended for suspected coronavirus, as well as in hospitals in critically ill patients, experts call computed tomography a more sensitive method for diagnosing viral pneumonia of the lungs. A number of studies indicate a lower sensitivity of radiography when analyzing for COVID. On the other hand, the advantage of such equipment is its mobility, which makes it possible to carry out investigations quickly when the patient cannot be transported.
